  • At Swim Fins Swim School we have a team of  highly trained, enthusiastic and innovative Coaches. These incredible Coaches create a thriving and enjoyable learning environment  for our students and families! 

  • Our Coaches are the best of the best and come to Swim Fins with experience and full certifications before they begin their Swim Fins program training!

  • All Swim Fins Coaches receive extensive training to enable them to succeed in their role. This extensive training involves 20-30 hours with the owner and with a senior coach to learn our unique learn-to-swim program and Swim Fins high teaching standards.  

  • Observations, mentorship and additional training are provided to Coaches to ensure their ongoing professional development.

  • Coaches create customized lesson plans for each student to ensure they are always striving to reach new goals. These lesson plans focus on the individual students weakness' and are overseen by the owner.

Coach Aaradh

Coach Aaradh is a student at Grandview Heights Secondary and has aspirations to become a Pediatric Doctor in the future! Aaradh, in his spare time, volunteers at  Community Services and also volunteers at his school. Aaradh is very focused on personal development and we are glad to have him on board!

Something that I love most about teaching swimming lessons is seeing the progress of all the swimmers! In my spare time I love to go swimming and practice my soccer skills. I have one cat named Monty, he loves laying by the fireplace and running outside. I also have three chickens named Maggie, Marge and Peanut. They love the sunny weather. In the future I aspire to be a lawyer!

COACH ADITYA

Coach Aditya loves to help others and hopes to become a Physiotherapist in the future. He has a very caring nature and volunteers coaching for YMCA. He is excited to share his in-depth knowledge of water safety and swimming with all his students at Swim Fins.

Coach Alyssa

Coach Alyssa loves to work with children and help them learn and grow. She has 2 younger siblings, has worked as a babysitter for multiple years as well as helped out in Sunday school at her church. Alyssa appreciates swimming so much that she has assisted kids in swimming lessons at her local pool and volunteered her time at day camps.

Coach Amorey is a past student of Swim Fins who is back to share all her knowledge with her students. She has been a volunteer swim coach and a junior coach for the past 3 years. Amorey loves to swim and is excited to continue to share her passion with all her students at Swim Fins.

Hi, my names Angelina!
The thing I love most about teaching is getting to know all my swimmers, and helping them find all their strengths and gain confidence in their swimming skills. I love to see their skills and technique improve as the lessons go on.
In my spare time I love going to the gym with my friends, and making art like ceramic pottery , paintings drawings. And in the winter I spend my spare time skiing with friends and family.
I have a pet dog named Rico heโ€™s small and has a big personality, heโ€™s very protective of my family and barks any time someone walks by. He thinks heโ€™s a big dog and loves acting like it.
I still donโ€™t know what is waiting for me in my future, but I will continue to work on my strengths and give my all to everything I do so that I can keep all my options open.

Coach Anjali

Coach Anjali is currently a student in University, studying at Simon Fraser University in Arts and Social Sciences is hopeful to further her studies and in turn become a Clinical Psychologist. She looks forward to each and everyone of her classes to share her passion of swimming with her students! Anjali hopes to continue to deliver her love of swimming with students throughout her studies.

Coach Aurora

Hi, Iโ€™m Aurora! The thing I love most about teaching swimming lessons is that I get to teach new skills and make swimming fun for everyone!In my spare time I love to swim, volunteer and play hockey. I have two pets: a fluffy dog named Blossom, and an adorable pet bunny named Minnie. In the future I would like to become a Kindergarten teacher!

Coach Armaan

Coach Armaan who has recently graduated High School has aspirations to become a Chef. Armaan has volunteered at his local church over the years and loves to give back to his community and hopes to work with us at Swim Fins for many years to come.

Coach Arwen

Coach Arwen is a High School Student who is multilingual, and has spent many hours volunteering teaching swimming and even coaching the Abbotsford Whalers swim team. Arwen, who aims to study in University after High School, plans to work with us for the foreseeable future!

Coach Belem

Coach Belem is an aspiring business owner studying computer programming at university. Belem has volunteered for a variety of children's programs over the past 7 years and is eager to serve as a positive role model for her students!

Coach Bethany

Coach Bethany has previously worked as a lifeguard at a Camp last summer and so has plenty of knowledge of water safety and implements that knowledge to each and every one of her classes getting the best out of our students!

Hi, Iโ€™m Camila! The thing I love most about teaching swimming lessons is seeing my students start to gain a deep love for swimming and grow and develop strong confidence when learning to swim. My hobbies are traveling, drawing, and skating. My goal is to visit all the countries of the world. I have two pet birds. The blue one is named blue, and the yellow green one is named lemonade. They love to free fly around my house. They love to sing and chirp songs! In the future I dream to study medicine to become a surgeon abroad in Europe. I love to take care of people and make sure they feel as comfortable around me as possible :)

Coach Cayden is a student in High School who hopes to go to University studying either in the field of science or possibly even becoming a paramedic! Cayden is eager to start with the team and share and improve his knowledge of water safety with our students!

The thing I love most about teaching swimming lessons is seeing my students progress over time and build confidence.
In my spare time, I like to read, listen to music, and go on walks.
I have two yellow canaries as petsโ€”they love to sing!
In the future, Iโ€™m looking forward to furthering my education at UBC in a healthcare discipline.

What I love most about teaching is getting to individually develop a special relationship with each student that I work with. I love to watch them grow and gain confidence in their swimming abilities throughout each lesson.
In my spare time I enjoy playing volleyball and I love any chance I get to swim and be in the water.
I have two dogs: Both Multipoos named Holly and Louie. They are very energetic and love to play ball!
In the future I aspire to join a missions team based Kona Hawaii. Later hope to become an Ultrasound Technician. I love working with and helping others!

Coach Emma studied Developmental and Child Psychology at the University of Fraser Valley. She is currently working as an Education Assistant within the Abbotsford School District. Emma has a passion for education and loves working with children, which is why she continues to teach swimming lessons alongside her full-time career. She has plans to return to school in the future to complete a masterโ€™s degree.

Coach Eshaan is a high school student, he is very excited to work with the students and watch them thrive in the water. He knows the importance of water safety and is eager to pass all his knowledge on to his students.

Coach Eric Ou

Coach Eric is currently in high school and will be going to UBC soon to discover more of his talents and passions. He is in the air cadets as well and is in charge of instructing his own squadron of level 2โ€™s. On top of that he volunteers with his school every month performing for seniors. He was a competitive swimmer for most of his life leading him to his passions of teaching people how to swim.

Hi, Iโ€™m Evan! Teaching, particularly teaching swimming, is something Iโ€™m super passionate about because Iโ€™m able to help my students overcome their challenges and fears. Which allows them to become the strong swimmer theyโ€™re all capable of being. If Iโ€™m free, Iโ€™m either playing badminton with a couple friends or doing laps at the pool. Although, I still love a good movie with some popcorn. I have an adorable dog named Max who is a Labrador and Corgi mix, meaning he has the face of a Labrador but with short stubby legs. Heโ€™s the laziest boy youโ€™ll ever meet but that doesnโ€™t change how cute he is. In the future, I wish to go to university and discover what Iโ€™m passionate about doing. Iโ€™m still excited to see what life has in store for me.

Coach Griffin

Coach Griffin hopes to one day study horticulture or business, until then Griffin attends his local High School. Griffin, who plans on going to University, wants to continue to work with us for many years to come.

Seeing their confidence grow as they learn new skills makes every lesson worthwhile. In the future, I aspire to become a doctor, so I can make a difference in peopleโ€™s lives by helping them with their needs. Itโ€™s my dream to work in a field where I can make a positive impact every day.

Hi, Iโ€™m Harveen! The thing I love most about teaching is getting to see the excitement on studentsโ€™ faces as they achieve a skill they had been struggling with. In my spare time I like to play volleyball and volunteer at the Abbotsford hospice society (community service in general). In the future I aspire to be an air ambulance pilot and am currently on the path to pursuing aviation!

Coach Isabella teaches private piano lessons in her spare time, and also has a passion for Irish dance. Isabella canโ€™t wait to meet all her students and create special bonds with each of them. We are very lucky to have Isabella as part of our team.

Coach Jace volunteers teaching kids and adults with disabilities how to swim. Jace has a passion for helping people and hopes to study pediatric medicine. Jace knows how to handle and care for kids and how to get the best out of them. We are lucky to have him on the Swim Fins team.

Coach Jashan is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering! Coach Jashan has previously volunteered at his local pool teaching parent and tot lessons. Weโ€™re sure he will take to his new classes like a fish to water ;)

What I love most about teaching swimming lessons is getting watch my students gain a love for swimming, while improving their skills and confidence! In my spare time I enjoy volunteering within my community and reading. I also love to collect rocks.
I have two pets; a dog named Gizmo, we named him after the gremlin in the movie Gremlins, and a bunny named Eri. Surprisingly the bunny is the boss between the two of them.
In the future I hope to become a pharmaceutical scientist, and help better the world quality of life through medicine and science!

Coach Khushi is a High School student who hopes to one day be a Dentist. Khushiโ€™s caring nature really shines through when teaching her students. Hi, I'm Kiyori! My favourite part of teaching is building meaningful relationships with the kids. I love getting to know them as individuals and helping them grow in confidence, encouraging them to believe that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. It's so rewarding to see their self-esteem and abilities flourish!
In my spare time, I enjoy working out and staying activeโ€”it helps me clear my mind and feel energized. I also cherish spending time with my family, as they bring so much joy and support into my life.
I have two dogs, both of whom share the same dad. One is named Jimmy, and the other is Lj. They each have their own unique personalities and always keep me entertained with their antics. Looking ahead, my dream is to go to nursing school and become a nurse. Iโ€™m passionate about helping others and making a difference in peopleโ€™s lives, and I canโ€™t wait to start this next chapter in my journey!

I have a dog at home as well as 5 chickens and 4 goats on the family farm.
As for my future aspirations, Iโ€™m studying Political Science at UBC and hope to pursue a career that allows me to make a meaningful impact in the community

In my free time, I enjoy painting and drawing, listening to podcasts, or curling up with a good movie. I also love spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking or hitting the slopes for some skiing whenever I get the chance. And let me not forget my adorable cat, Pishoo, who truly brightens my days and makes for the best company.
Looking ahead, I am eager to further my development as a coach and contribute to initiatives focused on swim safety, to help more individuals feel secure and at ease in the water.

Hi, Iโ€™m Tamanna! The thing I love most about teaching swimming is getting to work with new kids and seeing their skills develop each time. In my free time I like to read and spend time with my family, especially my twin sister. I have one dog who is a mini golden doodle and his name is Marley. He is very energetic and loves people! My goal for the future is to become a Veterinarian as I love animals!

Hi, I am Thanh. I love seeing my students gain confidence in the water. Watching kids go from being nervous to swimming independently is extraordinary rewarding. In my free time, I enjoy being active, whether itโ€™s long distance swim or weight lifting at the gym. I also spend time with my little son, either teaching Maths or playing tag with him and his classmates. My todayโ€™s goal is to keep growing as a swim instructor and help as many new swimmers as possible feel comfortable in the water. Furthermore, I want to advance my teaching skills so I can be the best instructor possible.

The thing that I love the most about swim lessons is seeing the kids journey from day 1, and seeing them learn and progress until the last day of lessons. In my spare time I love to workout and play video games. I have one pet, heโ€™s a pomchi (chihuahua, Pomeranian mix), and he is adorable. Unfortunately he is quite feisty and very barky but I love him regardless. My future aspirations are to be a dermatologist! Right now Iโ€™m studying kinesiology at UBC, after I get my bachelors, I will pursue medical school and then specialize in dermatology.

The thing I love most about teaching is getting see each student improve every lesson and how confident in the water they become by the end of their lesson.
In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, watching movies and tv shows, and going for walks.
In the future I hope to study business in university, and potentially pursue a career in the film industry.

In my spare time I like to explore nature. I usually bring my camera along to work on my photography skills.
I have a bernadoodle named Harvey. He loves going for walks, but heโ€™s terrified of the wind!
In the future I want to become a registered nurse so I that I can help people feel better!

Hi, my name is Aaron. What makes me love coaching? Itโ€™s the sheer laughter I get to share with students in every class while watching them conquer their fears. Apart from swimming, I am also a pianist in my spare time, not to mention my love for volleyball and badminton. My joyful moments in the pool will forever remain in my memories. Nonetheless, I also aspire to pursue a career in engineering.

COach Adhan

Coach Adhan has big hopes for the future as he hopes to study Engineering, specializing in either mechanical or software engineering. Adhan is in High School and will continue to teach children how to swim with Swim Fins while studying.

Hi, Iโ€™m Alana
The thing I like most about teaching kids how to swim is seeing them gain more confidence in not only the water but in themselves as well as they develop their swimming skills. In my spare time, I spend a lot of time baking and going on walks. I find that itโ€™s a great way to relax!
I have 3 cats, Bambi, DonDon and Turtle. Theyโ€™re all super affectionate! In the future, I hope to become a physicist/ mathematician. Both are big areas of interest to me. Itโ€™s fascinating how everything around us can be explained by the laws of physics and mathematics!

Coach Alice is currently studying at Langara College. She is looking to continue her education and acheive her Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education. She is an avid teacher as she also works as a tutor and a learning buddy for her local school kids. She likes to volunteer wherever possible for school events.

Coach Aly is heading into his first year of University. He has been a coach for his local community centre and has been reffing for school sporting events over the past 3 years! Coach Aly thinks our Swim to Survive training is the most important aspect of learning to swim, and we couldn't agree more!

She wants to become a solid and inspiring instructor to people of all ages. She loves working with people, being in the water, and has always been passionate about education.

Coach Amy is a High School student who is hoping to go on and study Science at University after she graduates. Amy loves working with kids and is passionate about teaching them to become the best swimmers!

COACH Arun

Coach Arun has hopes of being a High School teacher and carries his want and love of teaching to each of his classes. Arun has plans to go to University after his final year in Secondary School and continue to teach his students the importance of water safety.

Coach Ava is a High School student who wants to go on and study to become a lawyer or a teacher. Ava loves playing volleyball in her spare time. We are so happy to have her as part of the Swim Fins team.

Coach Beck

Coach Beck is a High School student at Lord Byng High School. Beck hopes to go to College or University after school to study Arts or Business. He plans to work with Swim Fins through the remainder of High School and University.

Coach Braden is currently a High School student who aspires to work in the medical field in the future. Coach Bradenโ€™s recent certificates in lifeguarding and teaching swimming will be put to good use as he ensures every student gets the best out of their classes!

Hello, Iโ€™m Brandon!
The thing I love most about teaching swimming lessons is working with my students. I enjoy engaging with them in a playful manner and observing their growth and development. During my free time I like to work on cars. My dream car is a 1991 Honda Beat.
I have 4 pets. A rabbit named BunBun, a dog named Henry, and my 2 birds: a budgie named Blueberry and a cockatiel named Pikachu. As you can tell, I REALLY like birds. In the future, I hope to become a mechanical engineer as I love designing things.

Coach Charis is a student with a passion for helping and teaching children. Charis previously has worked as an assistant teacher in children's groups as well as reading to the younger children. These skills and attributes, as well as her in depth knowledge of water safety and swimming, have helped make Charis the great coach she is today!

Coach Clarke has future aspirations to join the coach guard! Coach Clarke has experience teaching swimming to kids and he is excited to share his knowledge with the Swim Fins students!

Hi Iโ€™m Danika!
Swimming has been a huge part of most my life and I love sharing my love for the sport by teaching lessons! I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years with Langley Olympians and I also work at another pool doing physio for all different types of abilities. In my spare time I love working on my own physical fitness because that is what iโ€™m most passionate about! I also love playing the electric guitar I have a few different kinds. In the future I hope to do something related to my current jobs and passions๐Ÿ˜Š

Coach Daniel

Hi, Iโ€™m Daniel! My favourite part of teaching swimming lessons is seeing my students enjoy the lessons as much as I like teaching them. I believe that swim lessons should not only be beneficial, but also exciting to look forward to! I spend my spare time playing sports. Currently, I play basketball and soccer for my school team. In the future, I am looking to pursue medical school, where I can be a General Practitioner, travelling the world and helping families in need.

In my spare time, I love to read books and do long distance running.

Hi, I'm Ella!
The thing I love most about teaching swimming is being able to put a smile on the swimmers faces, help them build confidence and to be able to teach them in a fun and engaging way.
In my spare time, I love to swim competitively, hang out with my friends and watch my favourite shows on Netflix.
I don't have any pets, but I would love to have a dog!
In the future, I aspire to continue in the education path, to be able to help kids learn and continue to put a smile on their faces, whether it is in swimming or in other aspects!

COACH Elyse

Coach Elyse hopes to one day become a registered nurse! Her nurturing ways reflect in her classes towards her students. Elyse has gained all her accreditations and has been a great addition to the team! In her spare time Elyse volunteers with some of the children at her school.

Coach Gurshaan is going into his final year of high school and decided to join the Swim Fins family! Coach Gurshaan has worked in the food industry, but found his real passion as a swim coach. We canโ€™t wait to watch Gurshaan grow throughout his teaching career.

Coach gayeon

Coach Gayeon is a very capable student in High School and is very successful in the IB Program. Gayeon hopes to continue her teaching role into the future as she wants to become a school teacher in either Math or Science. She knows the importance of coach/student relationships which is vital in her role here with Swim Fins!

Coach Gurleen

Hi Iโ€™m Gurleen!!
I adore teaching and believe that anyone can learn how to swim, no matter their age! I love watching my students grow more and more confident in the water and in themselves, especially after they master a difficult technique. In my spare time, I am usually studying or volunteering in care homes! I am currently attending UBC as a Microbiology and Immunology major, and hope to pursue a future career in healthcare.

Hi, Iโ€™m Gurmeera! The thing that I love most about teaching swimming lessons is the progress in swimmers skills and them gaining confidence. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family and enjoying the nature BC has to offer! I enjoy working with kids so in the future I hope to work in paediatrics in the health care field.

Coach Gurneet

Hi, I'm Gurneet! What I love most about teaching swimming is helping kids discover their potential in the water and watching their confidence grow with every lesson. Thereโ€™s something special about seeing them go from hesitant splashes to strong strokes. In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer and staying active outdoors. I love to go on hikes and backpacking trips with my family. In the future, my goal is to pursue a career that combines my love for sports, coaching, and helping young people thriveโ€”possibly in teaching or another role where I can mentor and inspire others!

Coach Harvey

Coach Harvey is currently a student at the University of British Columbia. He is fluent in 4 languages including English, Mandarin and Korean. Harvey is a member of Scouts Canada and is a cub counsellor for summer camps. Harvey is passionate about swimming and helping as many kids as possible learn to swim.

Coach Jasleen attends Earlmeriot Secondary School and hopes to continue her education after school. Jasleen has put in numerous hours volunteering with swim teams. She really enjoys the gratification of teaching swimming to kids.

I love teaching swimming and helping students improve their swimming skills and strokes!
In my spare time, I like to try new restaurants and explore hiking trails. I unfortunately do not have any pets, but I volunteer at several animals shelters where I get to work with parrots, owls, and horses! I aspire to become a veterinarian in the future and share my love for animals!

Hi, I'm Jaya! I love to see the look on students faces when they realize they can do something. Itโ€™s the most rewarding, precious feeling! In my spare time I like to escape into any type of book. I have 2 dogs, Tango and Violet, they are Kangals and big. They are very loveable and love to meet new people! I am going into university to gain more knowledge in psychology as Iโ€™ve been interested in ever since I was young!

Hii, Iโ€™m Jayna! Teaching swimming is something I truly enjoy because I love seeing kids light up with excitement, have fun, and stay engaged while learning new skills. Outside of coaching, I spend my free time baking, hanging out with friends, and playing ultimate frisbee on the weekends. In the future I hope to have a job in the field of biology.

Coach Jeevan

Coach Jeevan is a WJ Mouat student who has plentiful experience in childcare. Jeevan has spent time assisting children with homework and entertainment. Her several hundred hours of work in childcare has taught Jeevan how to handle and care for kids and how to get the best out of them.

Coach Jaya previously worked as a head lifeguard, so water safety is her expertise! Jaya babysits in her free time and loves spending time with kids. Weโ€™re sure students will love learning from Jaya as much as she loves teaching them!

Hi, I'm Jonathan! What I really love about teaching swimming is seeing the swimmers making progress and learning how to swim, because it makes me feel proud and I feel like I did something useful. I like to play chess in my spare time as I am really into chess recently, I think it is very fun and it can develop my logical thinking skills. I don't have any pets, but I wish to have a Labrador Retriever as I like big dogs and they are very friendly. My goals for the future is to go to a good University and hopefully get a good job related to engineering after graduating.

Keon is a water lover, as he was introduced to the water at just six months old! He previously attained all of his lifesaving and first aid certifications and has now completed his Swim Teaching Certification.

Hi, Iโ€™m Kevin!  The thing I love most about teaching swimming lessons is getting to see students fill with happiness and smile on their face as they develop their swimming skills. In my spare time I like to breakdance and sing. I am trying to slowly improve on grooving to the music as I dance. In the future I want to become an architect where I can build houses and draw designs for houses and make a really nice and cozy home!

Hello, Iโ€™m Shepherd! My favourite thing about teaching swimming is watching kids that were too scared to put their face in and get more and more comfortable in the water. In my spare time, I like to practice the violin as well as go to the gym. For violin, I am working on getting through all my RCM levels. In the future, I hope to do something in the medical field, however I am still not sure what specifically. Something not super hard that can still help a lot of people!

In my spare tim, I like to play my instruments. I mainly play piano, bass clarinet, and the alto saxophone. I help younger kids at my school with their instruments too.
I have a white doggy named Fluffy with curly hair. He is absolutely adorable and I love him so much.

Hey there! I'm Patrick, and the thing I enjoy the most about teaching swimming is being able to be beside the students while they learn and continue to develop. Knowing that I can help them while contributing towards their growth is a feeling you can't get anywhere else. Apart from work, I also like to swim both competitively as well as for fun, and I also participate in water polo during the summer. Additionally, I have a pet husky, who I couldn't imagine living without. For the future, my goal is to become an engineer at a top school in Canada, and hopefully change the world for the better.

Hi there, Iโ€™m Prabhvir. My favorite part about teaching swimming is helping swimmers gain lifelong skills whilst watching the smile on their face as they begin to enjoy something new. In my spare time I enjoy playing sports such as basketball and listening to music which is a major part of my life. Although I have no pets currently, I plan on getting either a Pit bull or a German Shepherd in the future as a pet of my choice. In the future I plan on becoming an Orthodontist and help fix smiles.

In my spare time, I love to go workout or stay in and spend time with my family. I have one pet, his name is Rosco and he is a Rottweiler! He looks a bit scary but he's a big baby! In my future, I plan on becoming a Travel Nurse. This is my dream as I can travel and help others at the same time!

Coach Rajmitt is an avid volunteer in his community. He has volunteered for the city of Delta as well as the Surrey school district teaching swimming lessons and other extracurricular activities. He loves to swim and has been doing it all his life. His dreams are to go to University and study Criminology in hopes of becoming a police officer.

My favourite things about teaching swimming (and teaching in general!) has to be watching the students grow as swimmers, learning to be safe and have fun in the water.
I often spend my spare time practicing Karate and kickboxing, and swimming recreationally.
We recently got a pet Border Collie puppy name Ollie. He's very cute and loves playing, but can be a little shy sometimes.
In the future, I'd like to become a family physician or pediatrician.

The thing I love most about teaching swimming lessons is getting to see how my students improve from the start of the sessions to the end. In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, and coaching soccer. I also enjoy hiking and spending time with my friends and family. In the future I wish to become a physiotherapist, because I have had to deal with injuries, and going to physiotherapy has helped me a lot, so I wish to help others in the same way.

Coach Sahara is in her senior year of high school and hopes to study medicine at University next year. She is a keen basketball player and has represented her school at a provincial level. Sahara enjoys helping and working with others.

Coach Selina is currently enrolled in SFU and hopes to eventually get into medicine. Selina did competitive swimming for 6 years and assisted in coaching many practices. She loves working with kids, sharing her love and passion for swimming with them. We are glad to have her on the Swim Fins team.

Coach Xeo has just graduated High School and has decided Swim Fins is the next step for him. Xeo has previously volunteered working with children and is excited to work closely with his students passing on all his swimming and water safety knowledge.
